Jun Young, PhD
Principal
A communications strategist with more than 15 years of experience in corporate communications, Jun’s expertise includes executive communications,
integrated marketing, and leadership branding.
Prior to ZUM, Jun served as Director of Communications at Microsoft
where he launched several flagship products, including Windows. A seasoned communications coach and trusted advisor, Jun has worked with
Microsoft’s top executives to produce some of the company’s most prominent public appearances.
Today, he works with CEOs and their leadership teams across
high-tech firms in the Seattle area.
Jun holds a Doctorate in Communication from the University of Washington.
In 2012, he was named by the
Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the region's
notable entrepreneurs. He founded ZUM Communications propelled by a mission to help people and organizations communicate with remarkable impact.

Tiffanny Brooks
Senior Director
Tiffanny delivers powerful, impactful messages and has a
passion for delivering stand-out communications. Over the past 11
years, she has collaborated with company leaders to develop
messaging for high tech products and services. For the past 6
years, Tiffanny has worked with Microsoft thought-leaders to
develop presentations, readiness materials and a wide variety of
inbound and outbound marketing communications. She has extensive
experience developing professional presentations, writing
speeches, and designing organizational training curricula.
Prior to Zum, Tiffanny was the VP of Marketing Operations at a
strategic marketing firm in Redmond where she managed three
divisions and helped establish the company’s infrastructure.
Tiffanny holds a Master in Environmental Education from Lesley
University as well as degrees in English/Writing and Psychology.
Besides high-tech, her other love is primitive-tech. For the past
16 years, she has led multi-week outdoor treks all over the
continent, teaching aboriginal skills and desert survival
techniques. Since moving back to the Pacific Northwest, she is
learning how to forage and survive in our rich wilderness and
coastal areas.

Mark Rybak
Creative Director
Mark has orchestrated the design of numerous high profile keynote presentations and marketing campaigns. Consistently pushing for innovation, Mark has the ability to see beyond the expected or average solution. Mark strives to create clear and effective visual communications that will leave a lasting impact on your audience.
Mark holds a degree in Environmental Planning and Design from Rutgers University. Prior to captivating audiences with inventive design, Mark held senior designer positions at a New York City based international architecture and design firm collaborating on many award winning projects.

Lindy Henry
Senior Communications Manager
As a results-oriented, enthusiastic communications strategist, Lindy has a wide range of communications experience including HR communications, field engagement, and relationship marketing, using all types of tactics: from newsletters, portals, email and All Hands meetings to direct customer mails, web, and social media campaigns.
Lindy has worked across a variety of sectors such as high-tech and non-profit, and with all types of audiences from global Fortune 500 employees to developers and IT Pros to creatives in the entertainment industry. Knowing that the most effective communications strategies need to be tailored depending on the business goals at hand, Lindy’s core talent is distilling the message to its most potent form and finding the best way to convey it to the target audience.
Lindy earned a BA from Willamette University in Rhetoric and Media Studies. She has done extensive international travel serving on humanitarian trips on four continents.

Angela Powell
Visual Communications Specialist
Angela is a talented storyteller with a passion for turning
information into stunning visual narratives. As a graphics artist,
her unique skillset blends art and science. With over five years
of experience in market research, she has a keen sense for data
analysis and a sharp eye for design. She’s worked primarily in
high-tech, with clients that include Microsoft, HP, and PayPal,
most recently managing the detail and design elements of client
reports and presentations for Microsoft’s Global Research Study.
Angela has a BS degree in Information Technology from Central
Washington University.

Kelsey Frause
Senior Communications Manager
Kelsey's marketing and communications experiences showcase a
broad mix of B2B and consumer campaigns, social media strategies,
relationship marketing, and thought leadership. Central to all her
work is a consistent driving passion: to create clear, effective
communications that spark action. With roles at Wunderman and
Banyan Branch, Kelsey has built brand clarity with a wide range of
clients, including Clarisonic, Microsoft, HBO, Guilt Groupe, and
Hartz. She offers fresh ideas and a results-driven pulse on modern
marketing and digital engagement.
Kelsey studied International Relations and Spanish at Gonzaga
University, where she also earned a certificate from the
Comprehensive Leadership Program. In her spare time, Kelsey
pursues her loves of travel, design, cooking and adventurous
dining.

Karla Rose Hanson
Senior Communications Manager
Karla combines creative and analytical approaches to help
executives and companies deepen their connections to employees and
customers. With 17 years of communications and marketing
experience, including 10 years in global positions at Microsoft,
Karla brings expertise in communications strategy, executive
communications, and employee communications.
While at Microsoft, Karla managed communications for the Vice
President of a global division and developed and executed a
communications strategy for that division’s 4,500 employees. Karla
also held product management roles at Microsoft and was the
managing editor and an award-winning reporter at a daily
newspaper. Karla has degrees in journalism and textiles from North
Dakota State University.
