30 Nov Carrots, Kale, and Caring
This program builds partnerships between local farms, farmers markets, and individual growers to arrange donations of surplus produce to local food banks — they talk a lot about things like “gleaning” and “food recovery.”
No matter what you call it, for ZUM it meant mud, carrots, and kale.
We are proud to say our efforts digging, picking, sorting, and washing helped send an entire truckload of heirloom carrots and fresh picked kale on its way to the Carnation food bank.
And mud? We got covered in it. I mean, COVERED in it.
But we can’t wait to go back!
